2020 sure has a way of messing isht up this year. For the first time in a LONG time, Halloween is actually on a Saturday. AND, we get an hour back. (Does anyone really *want* an extra hour in 2020? Okay, nope, didn’t think so. Just checking.) Anyway, no matter what your feelings are on trick-or-treating, you can still find lots of things to do on Halloween (and leading up to it).
The CDC recommends avoiding traditional Halloween activities like trick-or-treating and parties this year for personal and public safety. Meanwhile, Montgomery County, PA officials issued guidance on enjoying Halloween safely. Halloween isn’t cancelled after all!
Choosing what to do for Halloween is a deeply personal decision. You may feel your kids have missed out on enough already and just want them to have a little fun as safely as possible. Or, you might feel the best option for your family is to take it easy and stay home, minimizing further spread of the coronavirus. You might have no single clue what to do. All of these feelings are valid and I feel your pain.
Deciding on Halloween Activities
If you are looking for fun things to do on Halloween without a crowd, you may enjoy our other Halloween article, 19 Alternative Halloween Ideas. Or, our Fall Activities Pandemic Alternatives. If, however, you feel comfortable venturing out for some Halloween fun, here are some local activities to consider in Montgomery County, Berks County, Bucks, and beyond in our little neck of the woods in Southeastern Pennsylvania. Please exercise caution, follow covid-19 policies, and stick to social distancing for your own safety and the safety of those around you.
