Have you been to Jim and Ralph’s yet? I don’t know about you, but I truly love doing business with “mom and pop” type places. You can almost feel the business owners’ elation during your interactions—it’s amazing! We had such a great experience at Jim and Ralph’s Produce Store in Collegeville, PA last year. The prices were more than fair, the quality was top notch, and the variety made us want to come back again very soon. I am so happy I found such a great produce store near me—allowing me to introduce my kids to all kinds of fresh and delicious fruits and vegetables.
For a long time, Produce Junction was the only produce store near me that I knew about or how to get to. My cousin mentioned Jim and Ralph’s Produce a while ago and I was excited to try it based on her glowing review. I am so glad I did! We haven’t been over to shop during the quarantine, so I am definitely missing it. We’ll have to schedule a trip over soon!
A Great Family-Owned Produce Store Near Me
Jim and Ralph’s Produce is a multi-generational family-owned produce store, and their love for the business really shows. Creative handwriting bedecks signage on dozens of bins of fresh fruits and vegetables at the store. I was stoked to get 2 fresh pineapples for just $1.50 apiece— unheard of! —among countless other delicious fruit and veggie deals. I still can’t get over the prices for THREE POUNDS of peaches that day, too – just $2.50 for 3 pounds. Southern Peach Cobbler, here we come!
I wish I could remember what I spent for this entire box of produce. Thinking back, I feel like it was something under $20, but I could be off. I also scored two Roma tomato plants and held myself back from buying a bunch of other beautiful flowers and plants that day. We were running late to get home for the school bus, so the fun would have to wait for another day.
Delicious Fruit and Vegetables at Jim and Ralph’s
Sometimes grocery store fruit just doesn’t cut it. The experience of enjoying ultra-fresh fruit and vegetables makes mealtime and snack time so much better. It was wonderful to find such great prices at a family-owned produce store near me. I loved bringing my preschooler through the aisles to choose healthy foods and she loved checking out the flowers out back. Our visit contained so many positives that I can’t help but urge you to check out Jim and Ralph’s for yourself if you haven’t been there yet.
Our produce order contained:
- 2 pineapples
- Peaches
- Lemons
- Oranges
- Corn on the cob
- Bananas
- Grapes
While there, the owners told us we should come back on a Thursday, when they would have more fruit and vegetables in stock. We’d gone on a Monday, which is essentially the end of their week. Still, we found so much we were excited about that the sold-out items didn’t even phase us.
Produce Store Prices, Selection, & Quality
We found everything we purchased at Jim and Ralph’s to be of fine quality, fairly priced, and very delicious. I’ve never found fresh pineapple so cheap before – that was most definitely my favorite deal that day. With all the fruit we picked up, I was able to make a pretty amazing sangria using some bad wine that needed fixing.
The produce shop had enough choices to cover mealtime as well as fruit for snacks throughout the day. Between the freshness and the good deals alone, we wished we’d found Jim and Ralph’s sooner! If you haven’t been there yet, do yourself a favor and go check them out!
Jim & Ralph’s accepts cash or personal check for payment. The shop is open every day except Tuesday and Wednesday. For the latest on their produce store, follow them on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/JimandRalphsProduce.
